Just out on the shelves this October is BLIND SPOTS: The 10 Business Myths You Can’t Afford to Believe by Alexandra Levit. This book is chock full of amazing tips and Alexandra has been featured all over the web and traditional media from the New York Times to the Daily News and on TV selling her myths and how to work past them such as “Overnight success is possible” and  “Controversy will propel your career.” For more from Alexandra, check out her website.
Huge congratulations to Kiersten White for SUPERNATURALLY which burst onto the scene and onto the NYT bestseller list this summer! We can’t wait for the final book in the trilogy, ENDLESSLY, which will be out in the summer of 2012. As someone who has gotten a sneak peek, let me tell you, you won’t want to miss the incredible finale!

And in case you were worried that Kiersten’s writing will end with this series, let me assure you that it won’t! In fact, soon you’ll be able to read TWO new books a year by Kiersten! That’s right, HarperTeen has just acquired Kiersten White’s next FOUR BOOKS in a major deal and plans to publish two per year beginning in Winter 2013.

MIND GAMES is a dark thriller where psychics and mind-readers are the ultimate tools in corporate espionage and two teen girls try to save themselves and their future; FLOOD AND STONE (aka ISADORA) has the teen daughter of Egyptian gods trying to escape her overly dramatic family dynamics only to find you can’t escape fate; A sequel to MIND GAMES and a fourth standalone novel. You can read all about Kiersten’s happiness, her journey, her crazy writing process, and more at her blog here
This summer I also had an exciting sale for the incredibly talented Daisy Whitney, author of THE MOCKINGBIRDS and its upcoming sequel THE RIVALS. Those two books have a whole new look with brand new covers for The Mockingbirds paperback and The Rivals hardcover. We absolutely love these new covers! Check them out on Amazon! You may remember that THE MOCKINGBIRDS was an NPR best book of 2010, an ALA Best Book for Young Adults, a Romantic Times best of 2010, and American Booksellers for Children (ABC) Best New Voices of 2010, a Chicago Public Library Best of the Best, and NCIBA Book of the Year honorable mention, a Volunteer State Book Award Nominee, and Indie Next List pick, and had a PW starred review. Is it any wonder that I’m so excited by Daisy’s writing. Check out Daisy’s website for the latest and greatest in her world.

My sale was for Daisy’s new book, WHEN YOU WERE HERE, pitched as Lost in Translation meets Where She Went, about an American teenager who travels from California to Tokyo to uncover the secrets surrounding the death of his mother, all while trying to both hold onto and let go of the girl he’s been in love with his whole life. Little, Brown will publish this book in Spring 2013.
In other news, I also teamed up with the Taryn Fagerness Agency to handle foreign rights for my clients. I just know she’s going to knock ‘em out of the park for me. Out of the country? I can’t wait to see what she does with my clients’ books.
For an amazing compilation of pretty much everything I’ve ever said about agenting, publishing, and life in general, check out this agent spotlight put together by the fabulous Casey McCormick. Thanks, Casey!
